The Special Interest Group in Optimization (SIGOPT) was created in 1993 with the purpose of encouraging cooperation and communication between its members to enrich the scientific network of mathematical optimization. In this regard, a series of conferences has been established in order to conglomerate all the different aspects of mathematical optimization within one event of familiar atmosphere, and it is our pleasure to announce the 6th SIGOPT conference to be held during March 4 - 6, 2025, in Siegen, Germany. The conference is scheduled to take place at the University of Siegen, Campus Unteres Schloss.

The SIGOPT conference covers theory and practice in all branches of mathematical optimization, e.g.,:

Submission of Abstracts and Session Proposals

Abstracts have to be submitted in LaTeX and should not exceed 1500 characters while being free of references. We offer the possibility to organize invited sessions. Therefore, a suitable session title, a chairperson, and three to four abstracts have to be provided.

Siegen

Siegen is a city in Germany, in the south Westphalian part of North Rhine-Westphalia.

It is located in the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein in the Arnsberg region. The university town (nearly 20,000 students in the 2018–2019 winter semester) is the district seat, and is ranked as a "higher centre" in the South Westphalian urban agglomeration.

In 1975, municipal reforms and amalgamations lifted Siegen's population above the 100,000 mark.

Uni Siegen

The conference will take place on the "Unteres Schloss" campus of the University of Siegen in the city centre. In addition to lecture rooms and seminar rooms, the mensa is also located there.

Getting to Siegen

Directions by bus:

At the main train station Siegen (HBF) you cross the forecourt and follow the pedestrian zone (Bahnhofstraße) across the square towards the Sieg river (slightly to your left). Then you cross the bridge across the Sieg towards the Kölner Tor. Cross at the traffic light and follow the pedestrian zone (Kölner Straße) uphill. This will lead you past the "Karstadt" (unfortunately closed in the meantime). Once past it, you veer right onto the "Alte Poststraße" to the campus. You reach the "Unteres Schloss" and the building blocks US-A, US-B and US-C if you turn right into the street "Unteres Schloß". If you continue on "Alte Poststraße", which turns into Kohlbettstraße, you reach the building blocks US-D, US-E and US-F.

Directions by car:

From Autobahn 45 take the exit Siegen (Nr. 21) on the HTS, (B54 / B62), towards Siegen/Netphen to the exit Siegen-Eintracht. From there follow Koblenzer Straße towards Unteres Schloss. Follow the signs for parking.

The registration prices below include the conference registration fee, the conference dinner and the excursion. There is also an option to purchase one additional ticket for the dinner including the excursion. The registration fee does not include accommodation.
